The theme for the 2015 symposium was storytelling in design. I came up with the event title, “Shifting the Story” to relate each speaker’s work to our theme in an exciting way.
I designed this poster to push the boundaries of typographic complexity while still maintaining legibility.
I studied the design process of Philippe Apeloig by reading his interview “Inside The Word”. From his work, I began to look at typography as art, where the elements of form can communicate an emotion.
This project is an exploration of laser-cut typography in poster design. The experimentation with lighting, photography and materials led to fascinating new visual discoveries.
The theme for the 2015 Intern Exhibition was the Pantone colors of the year. Each intern took a color and continued that theme throughout their presentation.
I expanded on the Pantone square in a scattered form to represent how the interns represent different studios in the architecture firm.
